BACAD Design was established in 1997 by Richard Bacon with a focus on delivering innovative, practical and client-focused building design solutions. Over the past two decades, Richard has worked across residential, commercial and industrial development, with successful projects throughout the Central Coast, Sydney, Newcastle, the Hunter Region and the North and South Coasts of NSW.
With a commitment to functional, thoughtful and approval-ready design, Richard works closely with homeowners, investors and developers to deliver outcomes that respond to site constraints, planning controls and long-term project goals. His approach blends creative problem-solving with practical detailing to ensure each project is both buildable and cost-effective.
Richard specialises in a wide range of residential development, including new homes, secondary dwellings (granny flats), dual occupancies and medium-density housing. He also provides design for access and mobility, delivering AS1428 compliant outcomes for specialist disability accommodation (SDA) and seniors living developments.
Richard holds a Degree in Building Design from Central Queensland University, is a Registered Design Practitioner, an Accredited Building Designer, a Chartered Member of the Building Designers Association of Australia and an Accredited Greensmart Professional.
From concept design through to council lodgement, BACAD Design provides clear communication, coordinated documentation and a collaborative approach to help ensure smooth approvals and successful construction outcomes.
